Window Washing – Window Cleaning

To achieve crystal clear sparkling windows a few things need to happen as described below:

*****Before You Start you will need the following equipment- professional grade squeegees, washers, chamois, glass scraper and towels. You can use regular dishwashing liquid with warm water for great results. For exterior cleaning ladders will be necessary******

1. Mix 1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid into a 5 gallon bucket with 3 gallons of water.

2. Next, dip the scrubber/washer in the bucket and squeeze excess water from the scrubber.

3. Scrub the glass, working at all angles to clean the edges. Make sure to cover every square inch of the glass. This technique allows you to get great results immediately.

4. Next, take a glass scraper and scrape of any dry paint, hard dirt and other debris from glass. Using a scrubber/washer, scrub the glass again.

5.  Grab your squeegee and pick a direction, top to bottom or side to side and slightly tip the squeegee so that only the corner contacts the glass. Press squeegee firmly against the glass where it meets window frame and proceed with stroke. IMPORTANT: wipe squeegee with towel after every stroke!

6. Begin again, with the top of the squeegee overlapping the previous stroke about 2 in. Pull the squeegee across the window at an angle to direct excess water down or side to side if you are using this method. Wipe squeegee and repeat.

7. Use the rag in your pocket to wipe up excess water along the perimeter edges of the window. Then poke your finger into a dry spot on a separate lint-free rag and run it around the perimeter of the window to remove any remaining suds. Wipe off any streaks using a clean area of the lint-free rag.
